Thomas Joseph Lynch Jr., 73, Cannon Falls, died on Tuesday afternoon, April 9, 2013 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Thomas Joseph was born on January 29, 1940 in St. Paul, the son of Thomas Sr. and Dorothy (DeMont) Lynch. He served with the US Army from 1957 until his honorable discharge in 1960.
Tom was a heavy equipment mechanic for MN Tractor in Bloomington, and later was a heavy equipment mechanic instructor at Dakota County Technical College for 29 years. He retired in 2002. He was a 29 year resident of Sogn Valley, where he was an avid hunter, and had been a member of the Cannon Valley Archers. He enjoyed metal work, blacksmithing, and was one damn good mechanic!
He is survived by his children, Mike (Kelly Jo) of Fountain City, WI, Cheryl (Bob) Young of Cokato, Pat of Tecumseh, NE, Kelly Nordby of Hartland, WI and Jim (Wendy) of Apple Valley; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Terrance.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 14 at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls. A Graveside Service with military honors was held on Monday at Calvary Cemetery, St. Paul.
