Blanche O. Miner, 88, Mason City, IA, died peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at her home.
Blanche was born July 16, 1924 in Emmons, MN, the daughter of Bert and Dora Olson. She was married to Harold B. Miner on July 27, 1943 in New York, NY. While Harold was stationed in Bayonne, New Jersey, Blanche worked in the defense plant making ship cables. They then moved to a farm in Blooming Prairie, MN before moving to Mason City in 1960.
She worked at Heritage Care Center, North Iowa Medical Center as a dietary supervisor and lastly as a customer greeter at WalMart until she retired when she turned 82. Blanche loved cooking and baking for her family. She loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas and to visit family in Norway. She enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Mary (David) Johnson of Cannon Falls, Darlene (Nate) Gunderson, Dean (Vicki) Miner, Earl (Ann) Miner, and Harold F. (Elin) Miner; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold B. Miner; three brothers, and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Kathy Graves officiating. Interment was held in Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Blanche O. Miner memorial fund in care of the family.
