Sylvia Esther Louise Fox, 84, of Sanibel Island, Florida and Cannon Falls, died on December 30, 2012 at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield.
She graduated from Rockford High School and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. She was a loving mother of six, grandmother of 28 and great-grandmother of 14. She was an accomplished artist, loved the outdoors, loved sunshine and the ocean, and was a woman of great faith.
She is survived by sons: Ed Pettit, Frazee, MN, Daniel Pettit (Dajovan), Minneapolis; daughters: Sherry Anderson, Cannon Falls, Heidi Pettit, Redmond, WA, Beth Pettit Willis (Jamey), Colorado Springs, CO, Amy Carter (Byron), Cannon Falls; sisters: Louise Hennen, Eustis, FL, Carolyn Levine, Cedar Springs, MI; brother Ken (Marilyn) Seifert, Annandale, MN; and brother- in-law Ted Van DeCar, Seattle, WA; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bernice and Alexander Seifert, husband James Pettit, husband Frederick Fox, sisters Phyllis Quittem and Eileen Van DeCar.
Mass of Christian Burial was Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at St. Pius V Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Maryknoll Sisters or the American Red Cross.
