Charlotte W. Stav, 98, rural Dennison, died December 1, 2012 at the Angels Care Center.
Charlotte was born July 8, 1914 on the family farm in Leon Township, Goodhue County, Minnesota to Iver and Louise (Olson) Stav. She attended country school near her home. She worked at various jobs throughout her life, but spent many years at the family farmstead taking care of the family's needs.
In 1961, Charlotte was united in marriage to Carl Stav in Tennessee. They made their home at Charlotte's family farm. They enjoyed traveling together around the country including, Texas, California and the Pacific Northwest. Carl died in 1980.
Charlotte was very devoted to the Urland Lutheran Church. She was an active member of the LDR group and served in the Ladies Aid. She was actively involved in reaching out to families in need in the community. She was interested in exploring family genealogy and making connections with distant relatives. Charlotte also compiled historical summaries of church groups and family histories.
In 1983, Charlotte traveled to Norway with her sister to tour and visit family. Charlotte took pride in her lefse making technique and taught members of her family to make it correctly. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them.
Charlotte is survived by her nephew, Lance (Linda) Sorensen of Oronoco, MN; great-niece Siri Anna Sorensen of Minneapolis, MN; great-nephew, Neal Sorensen of Boulder, CO; sister, Betty Spratt of Milaca, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and sister Agnes Sorensen.
A memorial service will be held later this month at Urland Lutheran Church. Details will follow.
