The RHS girls softball team won three of four games last week, running its record to 6-2.
RHS opened with a 6-5 win at NRHEG. They then competed in a tournament at Bloomington Kennedy, losing to Minnehaha Academy 7-2 and then beating St. Paul Central 10-2 and Kennedy 9-1.
Costly errors allowed NRHEG to stay in the game, despite Randolph holding an 8-5 hit advantage.
Abby Meyer and Kelsey Wall had two hits, and Meyer had two RBI. Carolyn Meyer had a strong outing on the mound, striking out six.
Minnehaha built a five-run lead as the Rocket bats never heated up. Wall had a triple and RBI, and Carolyn Meyer took the loss. Only three of MA's runs were earned.
Rocket bats came alive in the middle game, as they collected 10 hits in the win over Central. Wall led the way with three hits, and Madi Taylor and Ashleigh Dralle had two each. Wall, Taylor and Josie Fields had two RBI.
In the tourney finale, Randolph scored five runs in the top of the 1st and cruised to victory. Wall, Dralle, Taylor and Fields all had two hits, and Taylor had three RBI.
"A good week for us," coach Mike Silk said. "We still need to work on defense, as we're committing too many errors that will eventually catch up to us. We need to catch fly balls in the outfield!"
The Rockets had to postpone games Monday and Tuesday. They are scheduled to play Waterville on Thursday, Goodhue on Friday and United South Central Monday, May 5.
