Bomber boys get two more wins

by Mike Dalton

The CFHS boys basketball team ran its win total to 16 with league wins over LaCrescent and Pine Island.

Cannon beat LaCrescent 84-71, behind 27 points from senior Brock Peterson.

He made three 3-pointers in the game, and grabbed six rebounds. Fellow seniors Alex Bultena (18 points), Jordan Lundell (16) and Austin Noble (10) all reach double figures. Hunter Johnson had nine points, and Peter Haggerty and Taylor Carlson had two each.

Noble pulled down eight rebounds, Lundell had seven and Peterson six. Johnson had five assists.

The Bombers squeaked by Pine Island Monday night, in a game rescheduled from earlier in the season due to cold weather.

Peterson and Bultena led CFHS, with 18 and 17 points. Johnson had nine, Lundell and Noble eight, and Tanner Carlson one. Noble had 10 rebounds, and Johnson had six assists.

The final regular season game is Friday, Feb. 14, at Kenyon-Wanamingo. Cannon will play the Gold Division winner on Monday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. on the road.

Seedings for playoffs will be done on Sunday, and playoffs start Thursday, Feb. 20, at the home of the high seed. Bomber coach Josh Davisson expects his team will host a 7 p.m. game that night; games then move to the Rochester Civic Center.
