Turnovers lead to Bomber loss

by Mike Dalton

Pressure defense by the Medford Tigers forced the CFHS girls basketball team into committing 37 turnovers, putting the Bombers in a 25-point deficit en route to a 52-27 loss.

Cannon did make a nice comeback in the second half, cutting Medford's lead to 10 points, but they weren't able to get any closer.

"A lot of the 37 turnovers were just us rushing too much," commented coach Eric Mace. "We also got outrebounded by about 15; for our team to be successful we have to stay even on the boards."

Callie Loeschke led with eight points, Hailey Huseth had seven, Courtney Woodcock and Maggie Rutter four each, Tayler Banitt three, and Ashly Serres, Katie Noble and Maddie Adel two apiece.

Woodcock had six rebounds and four steals, and Huseth had five steals.

The Bombers were at Stewartville on Tuesday. They host Kasson-Mantorville on Friday and Hope Academy on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
