Strong 2nd half for girls soccer

by Mike Dalton

The CFHS girls soccer team played its very first match in school history Saturday, losing to Winona Cotter 6-0 after trailing 5-0 at halftime.

"Aside from the actual score, the girls had many victories," said coach Anne Davisson. "After going over a few key points at halftime, the girls took the field and completely changed their game, holding the Ramblers to only one goal in the second half.

"Jordan Kasa was agile and strong in goal, and many other players showcased skills that will help them find their niche on the field. The girls worked hard, pushed themselves, learned so much, and did it all with positive attitudes and smiles on their faces. I could not be more proud of their performance. As far as the score goes, we many not have won the game, but we were successful in so many other aspects of the match."

The Bomber girls have their first home match of the season on Thursday, Sept. 5, hosting Waseca at 5 p.m. on the field at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
