The Cannon Falls Bears will enter league class "C" playoffs as the #1 seed, despite losing three of their last four.
Cannon lost to Prescott Wednesday, July 17, 8-1, with six of eight runs unearned.
Chris Nobach, Jamie Stay and Cory Hedeen all had two hits. Josh Harrison was the losing pitcher.
Luke Winchell took the loss Thursday in a 14-9 contest with the Lake City Serpents, the league's #2 seed. He gave up five earned runs in five innings. Rich Burr and Jared Woodward also pitched.
Nate Otto had three hits, including a double and a triple. Keith Meyers, Brandon Voth and Hedeen all had two hits.
Tyler Boyle-Hoban picked up a win Friday, 11-3 over Veseli. He went five innings and struck out two. Hedeen pitched four scoreless innings.
Taylor Pagel, Harrison, Ryan Brintnall, Braxton Lindow and Zeke Williams had two hits each. Pagel had two doubles.
The Bears lost to Northfield 3-2 in the regular season finale, with Meyers getting the loss.
Winchell and Pagel had two hits each, and Hedeen and Williams had one. Winchell had a double.
The Bears faced #3 seed Randolph on Tuesday. #2 Lake City and #3 Randolph play Wednesday, and Cannon Falls and Lake City square off on Friday. All games will be played in Cannon Falls, and will continue through the weekend.
