The Randolph softball team made the best of a weather-shortened week by winning both games they played.
On Tuesday the Rockets came from behind to post a 9-8 win at Goodhue. RHS had 15 hits, with junior Kelsey Wall and sophomore Karly Friedges collecting three hits each; Wall had a 3-run home run. Allyssa Sanford, Madison Taylor and Ashleigh Dralle each had two hits, and Carolyn Meyer picked up the pitching win, striking out nine.
Kelsie Jo Endres pitched a 2-hitter against Janesville Monday, in an 11-1 win.
Randolph had nine hits, with Friedges getting two. Sanford had two RBI.
"It has been tough to get any consistency, with the weather being as it has," said coach Mike Silk. "But everybody is in the same boat. Most of our team hasn't even had one outside practice. We've been slowly getting into the flow, but are still a work-in-progress."
The Rockets were at New Richland Tuesday. They host Medford on Thursday, travel to Faribault BA on Friday, are at home in a doubleheader against West Lutheran on Saturday, go to Waterville on Monday, and wrap up a busy week at Medford on Tuesday, May 14.
