Good game, but Rockets lose

by Mike Dalton

The Randolph Rockets boys basketball team played to a packed house on parent's night Tuesday, Feb. 12, squaring off with Medford in the "old" gym in a 66-57 loss.

Both teams were pretty evenly matched. "Our main goal was to slow down their big guy," coach Tony Linbo said. The Rockets led 36-35 at the half.

Medford came out in a 1-3-1 defense in the second half, which didn't really give the Rockets much trouble. "Unfortunately, some timely turnovers and good Medford shooting led to the loss," Linbo said.

Jake Dubbels had 22 points, Alex McKay two, Keagan Nitz two, Drew Weidner eight, Austin Moorhouse seven, Chris Feidt eight and Kyle Volkert eight.

Randolph next traveled to Waterville, and, said Linbo, "it just wasn't our night." The Rockets lost 61-27.

Ryan Hoey had two points, Dubbels eight, McKay six, Trevor Otte four, Feidt four and Volkert three.

The Rockets finish their season by visiting Cleveland on Tuesday, and hosting Blooming Prairie in senior night on Friday, Feb. 22.
