The Cannon Falls boys basketball team traveled to the St. Peter tournament over the Christmas break, and came home with a second place finish.
Cannon played a scrappy LeSeuer-Henderson squad in the first game, winning 62-54 behind a solid defensive effort.
Jordan Lundell had 15 points, Tanner Jackson had 12 points, and Brock Peterson 11 to lead the Bombers. Lundell and Jackson both had four rebounds.
The Bombers faced #2 ranked St. Peter in the championship game, and played well before losing 69-60.
Cannon Falls led until the 10 minute mark of the second half, coach Josh Davisson said, and were down five with a minute to play. "St. Peter is big, athletic and skilled," he said. "We played well as a team. It was a great weekend of team-building and basketball for the Bombers."
Lundell had 24 points in the loss, and Peterson added nine. Both were named to the all-tournament team. Noah Callister had eight rebounds, and Paul Rolfes had four assists and two steals.
CF hosted Pine Island on Tuesday. They are at Kenyon-Wanamingo Friday, then host Lourdes at 3 p.m. on Saturday before going to Triton on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
