The CFHS volleyball team played very well in two league wins last week.
Cannon beat LaCrescent Tuesday night in three games. Scores were 25-16, 25-13, 15-17.
The Bombers' serve receive was nearly perfect, with a 2.9 rating on a 3.0 scale. Coach Melissa Huseth said the squad's kill efficiency is also up, with very few hitting errors. They also averaged 14 assists and 14 kills per game.
MaKenzie Franklin had 15 kills with three service aces, seven digs and two blocks. Carly Broze had six kills, Hailey Huseth five kills with 12 assists, two aces and two blocks, Mada Hofstedt five kills and three blocks, Lydia Franken 23 assists, two aces and eight digs, and Becca Vandenheuvel had 15 digs.
Thursday found the Bombers easily handling Winona Cotter, 25-14, 25-15, 15-13
Stat leaders included: kills - Franklin 12, Huseth five, Broze five; assists - Franken 17, Huseth seven, Madison Sesker six; ace serves - Franken and Kayla Quinn, three each; digs - Vandenheuvel 20, Quinn six; and blocks - Franklin seven, Broze five.
The Bombers currently have a 7-1 HVL record, and they're 11-2 overall. They were at Kasson Tuesday, and host Zumbrota-Mazeppa in their annual "Dig Pink" match Thursday. They host an invitational Saturday and Byron on Tuesday, Oct. 9.
