I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has been so supportive and caring since my husband, David, passed away in December. Your words, hugs, and gentle hand holding have meant the world to me. The memories you have shared of times past give me more to hold dear.
Some have asked if I am going to move back to the Cities. As my co-worker and dear friend Vicki said, "That's going to take a very long commute." There are no friends or family left in the Cities for me to go back to. You are all here now!
I have been here since 1996 and Cannon Falls is my home. I have friends that I could not envision my life without. I have family here as our youngest son lives in Red Wing and the oldest son is just south in Stewartville. Along with many "In-Laws" David blessed me with in the area I have more than enough reason to stick around.
Do I still cry? Yes and sometimes the tears come in buckets. Do I miss him? Yes, with every breath I take alone. Dealing with David's untimely death has been made manageable only because of the outpouring of love and support from all of you.
So I say Thank You. I love Cannon Falls. I am here to stay!
