On behalf of the Cannon Falls Community Food Shelf, its board and clients, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Cannon Falls Econofoods store, its employees and its customers for the recent donation of $4,683 to the CF Food Shelf. The funds were generated during a store-sponsored fundraising effort that lasted from the first week in November to the last week in December (2013). During the campaign, customers were offered the opportunity to contribute to the local food shelf as they completed their purchases at the cash register. I recently learned from Store Manager Jeff Kes that the Cannon Falls' campaign raised the most funds of any participating SpartanNash store across the North Central states.
I'd like to thank the Econofoods management and staff for enthusiastically promoting the program, as well as the customers for being so generous. That generosity makes me especially proud to be part of the Cannon Falls community. The funds were both appreciated and needed and will provide the Food Shelf with additional resources and flexibility when specific foodstuffs are in short supply or unexpected needs arise.
Thanks again to the Econofoods management and staff and to all those who contributed to this successful local campaign.
