10/17/2013 11:07:00 AM Cannon Falls - a great place to call home!
To the editor:
We moved to Cannon Falls 28 years ago to shorten our work commutes; and it was one of the best decisions we have ever made. We cannot say enough good things about the virtues of this lovely small (but big) community. The geographical location is ideal; Rochester to the south, the Twin Cities to the north. This community has so much to offer: excellent schools, a variety of shopping opportunities, new library, beautiful parks, etc., etc. There are so many wonderful attributes in Cannon Falls which truly make this a place to proudly call "Home."
We recently were involved in a cancer benefit for our son, Chad, who lives in Faribault; but true to form, the Cannon Falls merchants and people were very giving, caring, and empathetic. We wish to thank the following who contributed toward the cancer benefit: Econofoods, Merchants Bank, Hi-Quality Bakery, Acacia Studios, Family Salon, Body Works, Cannon River Winery, What In Yarnation!, Dudley's Pizza, Pizza Man, Beacon, Reflections Hair Salon, Pat LeVesque, Ace Hardware, Polly Valade, Babe O'Gorman Masonary, Frontier Ag & Turf, Fit on 4th and O'Reilly Auto; plus numerous participants at the Farmers Market: Fredrickson Elk Farm, Touched by Nature, Kelly Keckhafer, Grandma Debs, Dahle Gardens, Byrl Johnson and Eagle Wings Ministry.
We were overwhelmed with the generosity of so many local businesses and people in the community! Cannon Falls truly is a very loving and caring community. We appreciate every kind word, every donation, every prayer and every kindness shown to us. We are so grateful and thankful to live in a community that lives and demonstrates the old adage - We are our brother's keeper! The benefit held on October 6 was indeed a success due to the generosity of all the above mentioned. Blessings to you all; and again, many heartfelt thanks. We apologize if we overlooked anyone else who helped out in any way!
