Small town with a big heart

To the editor:

We can not possibly thank everyone for all the great kindnesses shown after the farm accident that killed our grandson Matthew Mallett.

The businessmen of Cannon Falls contributed $1,400 toward his funeral. Many many others contributed too. There were flowers from the school he was going to attend. The teachers he would have had were at the funeral as were many others from the community. The Goodhue County and Dakota County sheriffs were there.

First Baptist Church held the funeral with Pastor Bradley Berglund officiating and June Berglund providing the music. Meatheads provided much of the food along with many vendors. All the ladies of the church supplied food.

Our small church fed almost 200 people. The ladies did a beautiful job of serving everyone and then did all the clean up.

What a tremendous show of love by a great community. We can never thank everyone enough.
