2/21/2013 9:25:00 PM Podritz to fill open Randolph council seat
by Olivia Detweiler
The Randolph City Council unanimously approved Dick Podritz for the open city council seat at its February 13 meeting.
Podritz, who was the former mayor, was the only applicant for the position. He will fulfill the remainder of Mayor Robert Appelgren's previous term that Appelgren was serving as a council member before being elected Mayor.
The council signed a benchmark for the Trailblazers, which is the snowmobile club sponsored by the city. The benchmark verifies that the club has completed one of the requirements that must be done before the DNR disburses the grants.
City Clerk, Sheila Ekstrom informed Dan Lee, who was representing the Trailblazers at the meeting, that she received a letter stating that the club did not receive as much funding as it requested this year.
