A three-vehicle crash Friday, July 4, caused two fatalities and sent one patient by helicopter to St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
Killed were Norman "Shorty" Scott, 78, and wife Geneva "Neva" Scott, 79, of Cannon Falls, formerly of Randolph. Airlifted was State Patrol Trooper Scott Reps, 48, with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The accident occured about 2:30 p.m. Friday on 65th Ave. and County Road 24, near AgFrontier. The trooper was heading south on 65th Ave., responding to an injury crash involving a deer and motorcycle. The Scott vehicle pulled out in front of the trooper's squad just south of the intersection with County Road 24, and the vehicles collided.
Also involved were Richard and Patsy Groshong of Marion, IA; they did not sustain injury.
The condition of Trooper Reps was not known as of press time.
