11/21/2013 10:06:00 AM Thanksgiving dinner on November 28
The public is invited to a Community Thanksgiving Dinner, sponsored by Shepherd's Center of the Cannon Valley on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, in the lower level of St. Pius Church. All ages are welcome to attend this special event and serving will take place between 11:15 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
This event provides a Thanksgiving meal without charge to those attending (although donations are welcome). It also provides a chance for others to reach out in thankfulness by volunteering their time.
If family or friends would like to work together, they can coordinate the shifts by contacting Shepherd's Center. Currently volunteers are needed for both Wednesday, November 27 and Thursday, November 28. Those interested in volunteering are asked to call Shepherd's Center at 507-263-2136 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
If anyone needs transportation or meals delivered on Thanksgiving, they should also call Shepherd's Center. However, if calling on Thanksgiving Day, please call St. Pius at 507-263-4680.
Reservations are not required, but if anyone would like to RSVP they are asked to call Shepherd's Center.
Besides volunteers, monetary donations to help cover grocery and accompanying costs are needed. These donations are being collected only at Shepherd's Center and may be dropped off or mailed to Shepherd's Center at 120 W. State Street.
If you are able to volunteer or make a contribution, please contact Shepherd's Center at 507-263-2136 to assist with the Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
