11/6/2013 9:08:00 AM Shepherd's Center plans Thanksgiving meal
The public is invited to a Community Thanksgiving Dinner, sponsored by Shepherd's Center of the Cannon Valley on Thanksgiving Day, November 28. A delicious meal will be served at St. Pius V church from 11:15 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., and according to board member Glenn Aronson, transportation, if needed, can be arranged through Shepherd's Center.
"This is for the community," said Aronson, "and we would love to see a large turnout of not only seniors, but families and all interested individuals who would like to spend Thanksgiving Day with other community members."
This event provides a Thanksgiving meal without charge to those attending (although donations are welcome). It also provides a chance for others to reach out in thankfulness by volunteering their time. If family or friends would like to work together, they can coordinate the shifts by contacting Shepherd's Center.
Monetary donations to help cover grocery and accompanying costs are needed. These donations are being collected only at Shepherd's Center and may be dropped off or mailed to Shepherd's Center at 120 W. State Street.
If you are able to volunteer or make a contribution, please contact Shepherd's Center at 507-263-2136 to assist with the Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
