Last Saturday, Aug. 17, the Randolph/Hampton Fire District hosted their 46th annual Chicken Barbecue and Street Dance on the main street in Randolph.
Cooking 4,400 pounds of chicken and preparing 4,500 pounds of corn, 2,304 meals were served with baked beans, rolls, cole slaw, coffee and pop.
Sixty-three volunteers helped shuck corn in preparation, including Fire District personnel and family members, the Randolph football team, Randolph School administrative members and many members of the community.
Music of "So Big" played from 7-11 p.m. and patrons stopped at concessions, the flea market, craft fair and played games until 9:45 when the drawing has held.
The grand prize of $1,000, donated by the randolph Boosters, was won by Ferdinand Volkert of Hampton.
