There is an influenza vaccination clinic being held at the school during the back to school open house on Wednesday, August 28, from 4-6 p.m. in the Elementary School Cafeteria.
The CDC states that it is not too early to get the flu shot to help prevent influenza this year.
Influenza is a serious disease that can lead to hospitalization and sometimes even death. Every flu season is different, and influenza infection can affect people differently. Even healthy people can get very sick from the flu and spread it to others. The CDC recommends that everyone who is at least six months of age receive the vaccine.
Paramed will be providing the vaccinations for this clinic. They are able to bill Blue Cross Blue Shield and Health Partners Insurances or individuals can private pay by check or cash. The out of pocket cost is $25 for the flu shot or $35 for the FluMist.
