Participating local businesses have partnered with the Cannon Falls High School to give students who qualify for the EXCEL Program discounts and benefits for their academic achievement.
The program is intended to encourage CFHS students to strive toward academic success, good attendance, and involvement in community service.
Effective from January 28 to May 30, gold card reward qualifiers are Megan Bauer, Sheyenne Bauer, Kelsie Beissel, Hannah Boman, Noah Callister, Sami Cromer, Cassandra Dulek, Ryan Foster, Kaesey Glaess, Tanner Jackson, Lindsay LaMoore, Lauren Lecy, Quinton Lindow, Samantha Modrak, Austin Noble, Shannon Phelps, Connor Rechtzigel and Becca Vandenheuvel.
Students who qualified for blue card are Carley Broze, Allison Egge, Hunter Johnson, Jordan Kasa, Emilee Lorentz, Jordan Lundell, Marley Mayer, Leah Meyers, Alexa Ochocki, Jacob Peine, Brock Peterson, Paul Rolfes, Maggie Rutter, Colton Sande, Samuel Singh, Marissa Stein and Halley Strain.
Green card qualifiers were Taylor Carlson, Peter Haggerty, Mada Hofstedt, Anna Nelson and Hunter Walker.
Each card includes free or reduced admission to home athletic events, goods from or discounts by participating area merchants, discounts for school dances, half price popcorn at the High School concession stand and a one time discount on Cannorama, the yearbook, during the last week of school.
Participating businesses and benefits include Community Resource Bank, tote bag; Hastings Theatre, one "2 for 1" movie pass per semester; Country Kitchen, free large pop with any meal purchase; Pat LeVesque, 10% off regular priced merchandise; Super America, 3 cents per gallon discount on gas - unlimited; Scofield Drug & Gift, $5 off a purchase of $10 or more excluding prescriptions and insulin, and one per student per semester; First Farmers&Merchants Bank, $5 gift certificate to Oasis Market; Family Salon, $5 off haircut, and one per student per semester. Also $5 off any tanning package; Dairy Queen, 10% off any order; Cannon Valley Video, 10 tanning sessions for $30 + tax and 15% off tanning lotions; Dairy Inn, free small pop with any food order; Dudley's Pizza, 10% off any pizza order (gold and blue cards), 5% off any pizza order (green card), one pizza per visit.
Hjermstad Hardware, 10% off any merchandise except major appliance, sale items and repairs; Jim Nelson Insurance, $15 gift certificate for Rapp's Short Stop; White Rock Bank, 50 free checks when opening a checking account or $5 when opening a savings account or deposited into an existing savings or checking account; Althoff Hardware, 10% off all items except major appliances, sale items and repairs; O'Reilly Auto Parts, 10% discount on regular priced merchandise (gold card), and 5% discount on regular priced merchandise (blue and green card); Subway, free medium drink with 6" or larger sandwich; Merchants Bank, $10 of Chamber dollars which can be used at any businesses belonging to Chamber of Commerce; Chicago Ed's Jewelry, 33% off any regularly priced merchandise in stock; Cannon Eye Clinic, 25% off on contact lens new fit or refit,* 25% off complete pair of regularly priced prescription eyewear, prescription or non-prescription sunglasses* (*no other discounts apply); Hi-Quality Bakery, one-half dozen sweet rolls per semester; Cromer Creations, 5% off anything (does not include annuals); Cannon Falls Beacon, Corporate Sponsor, provides services for EXCEL program.
