2/7/2013 8:45:00 PM PTO thankful for mini-golf support
by Ken Haggerty
The Cannon Falls Elementary PTO Board would like to thank everyone who helped make our Mini-Golf Event a success on January 26 and 27.
They had approximately 415 golfers go through, many parents walked with their children and did not golf. The event was shortened by snowy and cold weather closing down at 2:30 on Sunday.
They report a great turnout and a lot of fun. They say they had many creative holes this year and need to thank all the teachers and clubs who put time and effort into creating those holes, including RtI, FFA, NHS, and CHI, Officer Ayres, the cheerleaders, and the nurses.
The winner of a $50 prize was hole #14 which was designed by the fifth graders. Titled "REALing in Good Behavior" it was complete with a dock and lots of fish. It only beat out the 3rd grade's pool table by a mere four votes.
Stephanie Bowen's fifth grade class had the highest attendance and will win a "Minute To Win It" Party from the PTO, along with scholastic dollars to spend in their classroom.
The PTO gives special thanks to the custodians, Bridget and Wendy for help in the kitchen, and to all the volunteers who continue to take time out of their busy lives to make the PTO events a success.
Thanks also to all the local businesses who sponsored a golf hole. Ideas are already being tossed around for next year's holes.
