The CFHS performance of "Into the Woods" completed its weekend run on Sunday. "It was a challenging but enjoyable production to bring to Cannon Falls and I am proud of all who were involved. Everyone worked incredibly hard and it showed on stage," said Director Joe Burns. Burns was assisted by Choral Director Sue Franke. Burns puts attendance at upwards of 625 for the three shows.
In addition to a cast of 28, a live orchestra also performed under the direction of Joel Bryan. Included in the orchestra were Brittany Gonzalez, Sam Heski, Kaity Sjoblom, Julie Thorburn, Alex Heydt, Emily Balder, Ben Magalis, Mitch Roble, Tom Zachary, Talia Anderson, Brett Garrett, Matt Shorter, Kaleb Shades and Katie Knocke. Piano accompanist was Kathy Illa. Illa, her mother and Jill Serres pitched in on costume work.
Set designers Ken and Heidi Kressin and Doug Anderson were helped by a crew of Anne Anderson, Geri Geiken, Nicolette Hernke, Aaron Thesing, Katie Thesing and Patrice Thesing.
Jeff McCusker "helped us get the technical ball rolling in this new facility," said Burns and Josiah Fisher was the sound technician. Rebecca Benson and Taylor Janssen worked spotlights and Kiera Murphy, Caitlyn Strack and Brook Thomforde were the stage crew.
Burns also acknowledged the support of Interstate Building Supply, Ace Hardware, Althoff Hardware and Appliance, Hjermstad Trustworthy Hardware, Fourth and Main Fabrics, Countryside Antique Mall, Thora Mae's Antiques, Nessie's Nest and Debbie Althoff in the creation of the sets.
