There are new units and plenty of old favorites in this year's 4th of July Parade in Cannon Falls.
"We're very excited because
it's going to be a great parade," Stephanie Fox, one of the
organizers said. "And I think people will be happy with the
new route because there will be more viewing space and easier
access in and out of Cannon Falls."
Fox added that there's another
improvement for senior citizens and handicapped spectators at
this year's parade. The entire block on the south side of West
Mill Street between 3rd and 4th St. has been designated for senior
citizens and handicapped. They should go to the parking lot of
1st National Bank where parking is available. Bleachers will be
set up overlooking West Mill St. across from the library for great
viewing.
Parade entrants are reminded to
be sure to check in at the stop sign at the corner of Bluff and
East Minnesota Streets, the 4-way stop in front of Cannon Falls
High School.
Fox added that the committee is so grateful to all of the participants and everyone who makes this parade possible. If there's anyone who is willing to help along the parade route - assisting people and giving directions - they should contact her at 263-3535.
